Yu Yingshi (余英时) was a historian and scholar whose work and public engagement connected modern Chinese intellectual history with support for democratic and human-rights causes.
FreeChina’s source package records his support after June Fourth for exiled Chinese activists and institutions associated with the Princeton China Initiative and Chinese Society. This profile is deliberately source-bounded while archival and institutional records are added.
Research status
Canonical profile established from the existing P1 publication-ready source package. Further enrichment will add Princeton institutional records, contemporaneous statements, and material documenting post-1989 support networks.
