A surviving English-language FreeChina.net file by Ma Buyin reflects on internal problems facing the Chinese democracy movement and was written for the Free China Movement Unity Conference. The essay discusses factional conflict, democratic organizational culture, financial transparency, policy preparation, economic reform and the idea that opposition groups should develop concrete governing programs rather than rely only on protest rhetoric.
The document is an authored commentary, not an adopted Free China Movement policy statement. Its arguments are therefore attributed to Ma Buyin.
