Yan Jingqiu

Yan Jingqiu (鄢景秋) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qingdao, Shandong Province. Rights Defense Network’s Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists her among reported current-custody political prisoners and prisoners of conscience.

Minghui.org, a Falun Gong-affiliated outlet, reports that Yan was arrested on March 14, 2026 by Shinan District police. The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), also Falun Gong-affiliated, identifies her in Chinese as 鄢景秋 and likewise reports a March 14 arrest. Minghui reports that the Shinan District Court held a hearing on July 29 and sentenced her on August 6, 2026 to four and a half years in prison; it also reports that she appealed. The criminal charge and post-sentencing place of confinement were not established in the sources reviewed.

Minghui also reports earlier detention and sentencing episodes involving Yan in 2000, 2004, 2005, and 2016–2018. Those historical details, as well as allegations about detention conditions and treatment, remain source-attributed and have not been independently verified by FreeChina.

Evidence note: The Chinese-name form 鄢景秋 is supported by the WOIPFG case notice. Published Minghui reports support the 2026 hearing and reported four-and-a-half-year sentence. Advocacy-source allegations are presented as attributed claims rather than independent findings.
