Pang Xun (庞勋) was a radio host associated with Sichuan broadcasting and a Falun Gong practitioner who was reported to have died in prison on December 2, 2022, while serving a five-year sentence.
Detention and reported death
The Epoch Times reported that Pang was arrested in July 2020 and later sentenced to five years. A person close to him told the outlet that he died at a prison in Leshan, Sichuan, on December 2, 2022. Later Falun Gong-affiliated reporting identifies the facility as Jiazhou Prison.
The Epoch Times reported that Pang’s family observed injuries on his body and sought an independent forensic examination. The same reporting said prison authorities attributed his death to hyperthyroidism, while friends disputed that explanation. No publicly available independent autopsy result, court judgment or official death record has been located in the sources reviewed.
