Lam Man-chung — Apple Daily Executive Editor and Political Prisoner

Lam Man-chung is the former executive editor-in-chief of Apple Daily and is currently imprisoned in Hong Kong.

CPJ reports that Lam was sentenced on February 9, 2026 to 10 years for conspiracy to collude with foreign forces after pleading guilty in 2022. CPJ says he was arrested on July 21, 2021 and has remained behind bars since then. CPJ also reports that he has lodged an appeal against his sentence.
