Fergus Leung Fong-wai (梁晃維) is a former Central and Western District Councillor and former Hong Kong 47 political prisoner.
Arrest and charge
Leung was arrested on January 6, 2021, released on bail the following day, and formally charged and detained again on February 28, 2021 with conspiracy to commit subversion.
Sentence
On November 19, 2024, Leung was sentenced to 4 years 11 months.
Release
Leung was released in late January 2026 after completing his sentence. Hong Kong Watch’s January 2026 briefing records the release in the January 26–27 period; Free China therefore classifies him as a former political prisoner / released.
