Lu Honglai (吕洪来)

Lu Honglai (吕洪来) is a Tianjin Democracy Wall-era activist and independent-press figure who later continued democracy advocacy outside mainland China.

Human Rights Watch and other sources place Lu in the 1998 Beijing-Tianjin China Democracy Party branch-formation effort. Some sources describe him as a vice-chair, while later accounts dispute whether he accepted that office; the exact title therefore remains unresolved.

His record also includes an earlier political imprisonment beginning in 1981 and a further detention in 2008. Later reporting places him in exile and continuing public activity.
