Wei Linwen / 魏林文
Classification: Hubei China Democracy Party activist; United Headquarters committee-member lead.
Wei Linwen is independently anchored to Hubei China Democracy Party activity. Contemporaneous reporting records his detention in Wuhan on December 12, 1998 while advocating for Wang Youcai. A reproduced 2001 Wuhan judgment in Lü Xinhua’s case identifies Wei within the Hubei CDP network, while a reproduction of the February 6, 1999 United Headquarters notice lists him among the 31 headquarters committee members.
Role and custody controls
Human Rights Watch evidence supports a Hubei CDP vice-chair identity. The formal United Headquarters committee role remains reproduction-supported pending recovery of the original notice. The December 1998 detention is independently corroborated, but its exact duration and disposition have not been recovered.
Primary research targets
Targets include the original December 1998 detention record, Hubei branch membership and role records, the original February 6 United Headquarters notice, authenticated 2001 judgment exhibits, and later biographical and status records.
Custody status: FORMER / historical short-term detention; exact December 1998 disposition remains unresolved.
