Alvin Yeung Ngok-kiu (楊岳橋) is a Hong Kong barrister, former Civic Party leader and former member of the Legislative Council.
Arrest and charge
Yeung was arrested on January 6, 2021 in the mass national-security operation targeting participants and organisers of the July 2020 unofficial democratic primary. He was formally charged with conspiracy to commit subversion on February 28, 2021.
Sentence
On November 19, 2024, Yeung was sentenced to 5 years 1 month in the Hong Kong 47 case after pleading guilty.
Release
Yeung was released from Stanley Prison on March 28, 2026 after completing his sentence. He is therefore classified here as a former political prisoner / released.
