Chen Haoheng (陈皓恒) is a Hong Kong activist, former convenor of the Civil Human Rights Front (民阵), and a League of Social Democrats (社民连) member whose illegal-assembly convictions drew a total 22-month sentence. Sources record his release on October 10, 2022. An August 2026 mainland-prisoner roster still lists him among reported in-custody cases, but no corroborating evidence of a new detention was located, and his present status is unconfirmed.
Born in 1996, Chen joined the 2014 Umbrella Movement while working as a legislative-council assistant and went on to become a member of the League of Social Democrats. He succeeded Jimmy Sham (岑子杰) as convenor of the Civil Human Rights Front in October 2020, a role he held until May 2021.
He was arrested on October 1, 2020 while walking toward Victoria Park ahead of a banned march, and again on October 20, 2020 in connection with an earlier unauthorized assembly. He faced 14 charges across the two cases. On May 28, 2021, the West Kowloon Court sentenced him to 18 months for the unauthorized assembly of October 20, 2019; in October 2021 a further one-month term was ordered to run consecutively, bringing the total to 22 months. He was held at Shek Pik Prison (the tenchu database lists Stanley Prison instead; the two sources disagree on the facility) and was reported released on October 10, 2022.
The August 31, 2026 rights-defense roster lists 陈皓恒 / “Chen Haoheng” in its group of people serving sentences of less than two years — consistent with the 22-month term. The roster’s own stated methodology removes released people, and no record of any re-arrest or new proceeding since 2022 was located. The listing therefore appears to be a stale-data carryover rather than evidence of renewed imprisonment; the Media Profile & Archive records the full reasoning and caveats.
Note on the name. The roster and the tenchu database write 陈皓恒, while much Hong Kong reporting and the captioned images in the CPPC profile write 陳皓桓 (Figo Chan Ho-wun). The biographical evidence identifies this record as the same activist, but the character difference is retained in the title because it is the roster’s form.
