Li Zhiyou (李志友 / 李知友) is a Guangxi democracy activist associated with the China Democracy Party preparatory effort. Human Rights Watch and contemporaneous reporting document his detention in December 1998 and a three-year sentence in 1999 connected to distributing or posting China Democracy Party material.
The surviving sources use more than one Chinese-character form for his name. This profile therefore preserves both 李志友 and 李知友 pending recovery of an original legal or identity record. An independently verified actual release date has not yet been recovered and is not inferred from the sentence length.
