Wang Youcai is a Chinese democracy activist who participated in the 1989 student movement and later became a principal organizer of the China Democracy Party’s Zhejiang preparatory committee in 1998. He was sentenced to eleven years in prison in December 1998 in the crackdown on the party-building effort and was released on medical parole in 2004 before traveling to the United States. Later overseas party titles are recorded only for the dates and organizations documented by their sources and are not back-projected to 1989 or 1998.
