Yang Hai (杨海) is a Xi’an dissident and 1989 student-movement participant who has faced repeated detention or forced removal around politically sensitive events and June Fourth anniversaries.
Public role
P1 sources independently support his identity and repression history, but reputable accounts conflict over the length of his post-1989 prison sentence. The conflicting sentence lengths are preserved rather than normalized.
Research status
The P1 media baseline is completed with a sentence-length conflict hold. Original judgment, prison, release, and later police-restriction records remain archival enrichment targets.
