Yao Zhenxian (姚振宪) is a Chinese democracy activist associated with China Democracy Party organizing in Shanghai during 1998–1999.
Contemporaneous human-rights reporting identifies Yao as the younger brother of Yao Zhenxiang and records a distinct two-year reeducation-through-labor term following his 1996 arrest. Human Rights Watch later reported that he fled China about eight months after release, placing that release approximately in April 1998. Separate sources record brief police questioning on June 4, 1998 and another reported Shanghai detention in September 1998. These episodes are treated separately; his brother’s sentence and reported mistreatment are not attributed to him.
RFA reporting and a reproduced November 1998 national China Democracy Party coordination list materially support his Shanghai CDP participation. Exact office or title remains dependent on original organizational records.
