Liang Ziliang (梁子亮) — Heshan Baptist Preacher Listed Detained Without Trial

Liang Ziliang (梁子亮) is a Baptist preacher in Heshan City, Guangdong Province. Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists him among people classified as detained without trial in Guangdong.

Liang has been identified in reporting as a leader of the Shaping Street Baptist Church in Heshan and the husband of Li Yinxiu. In June 2018, according to ChinaAid-sourced reporting and the U.S. State Department’s 2018 International Religious Freedom report, Liang, his wife, and other church members were detained after distributing Christian brochures and carrying anti-abortion banners in a local park. The State Department report says the couple was held for several days.

Secondary reporting from Bitter Winter, Christian Times, and Voice of the Martyrs Korea described criminal-detention notices, detention at the Heshan Municipal Detention Center, and a home search. Those accounts largely trace to ChinaAid’s reporting and are not treated as independent lines of evidence.

ChinaAid revisited the couple in July 2025, describing them as leaders of the Shaping Street Baptist Church and stating that their situation remained unclear at that time.

Current-status note: the August 31, 2026 roster is the only located public record of Liang’s current detention. It gives no start date, charge, facility, or case narrative. No continuity is claimed between the brief 2018 detention and the separate 2026 listing.
