Li Zhan (李展) is a former factory worker from Anhui who was detained in Shenzhen on July 27, 2018 after supporting workers seeking to form a union at the Jasic Technology plant.
Chinese Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) records Li as male, born June 4, 1992, with usual residence in Suzhou City, Anhui. CHRD says he worked at Jasic Technology in Shenzhen’s Pingshan District and took part in the workers’ unionization effort.
CHRD reports that Li was detained at the Jasic factory on July 27, 2018 and later held at Shenzhen Municipal No. 2 Detention Center. The reported accusation changed from “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” to “gathering a crowd to disturb public order.” Human Rights in China reported that after a lawyer met Li in September 2018, the lawyer was pressured to withdraw from the case.
CHRD submitted Li’s case and those of several other Jasic detainees to UN Special Procedures in March 2019. In July 2019 CHRD reported that Li remained in custody.
A Rights Defense Network roster dated August 31, 2026 lists Li Zhan among people classified as detained without trial in Guangdong. Because that roster has shown stale entries for other people associated with the Jasic case, this profile records the listing but does not treat it as independent confirmation of Li’s present custody. No trial, verdict, sentence, release, or later official disposition for Li was located in the prepared evidence.
