On September 8, Zhou Chunwei published an open letter opposing the CCP’s long-term monopoly on state power and supporting judicial independence, press freedom, freedom of association and expression, and the public’s right to choose its government.
“We welcome Ms. Zhou Chunwei for stepping forward and publicly breaking with CCP one-party rule.”
The Free China Movement also holds that prior participation in state institutions should not permanently define a person’s political identity. At the same time, any specific commercial, financial, or legal allegations should continue to be examined independently on the facts and through fair legal procedures.
