Zhang Fan / 张帆 — Hunan Student Sentenced After 1989

Zhang Fan (张帆) was a Hunan student associated in historical prisoner records with a Changsha electric-power institution and post-1989 campus political activity. He was a native of Xiangyin, Hunan.

Documented record

A Hunan prisoner roster records Zhang as a student at the same or similarly named electric-power institution as Liu Shuguang and reports a three-year prison sentence. The roster places him in the Chishan Prison (then Hunan No. 1 Prison) grouping. A later historical account links him to the same campus investigation and continued democracy activity as Liu Shuguang, but does not provide an individual sentence.

The exact historical institution name is unresolved because sources use variant names. No primary judgment has yet been located.

Unknown fields

Zhang’s precise arrest date, formal charge, sentencing court, release date, post-release life and current status remain unknown. These details must not be inferred from Liu Shuguang’s case or from the nominal sentence length.

Identity guard

Zhang Fan is a common name. This record is anchored by the Xiangyin origin, Changsha electric-power student identity, three-year sentence and Chishan-roster placement. He is a different person from Zhang Shanguang (张善光).
