Jiang Fuxing / 蒋复兴 was a Baoyuan Coal Mine worker from Qiyang County, Hunan, and a principal defendant in the 1990 Chenzhou prosecution of the organization the court called the “Democratic China Front — Mountain Branch” (民主中国阵线山地支部).
Identity and role
The surviving judgment identifies Jiang as 26 years old, Han, a native of Qiyang County (祁阳县), and a worker at Baoyuan Coal Mine (宝源煤矿). The court treated Jiang and Bai Xiaomao as principal organizers (主犯). The judgment states that Jiang drafted political leaflets for the group, whose program included demands for citizens to elect their own state leader and governing party.
Case and sentence
The Hunan Chenzhou Prefecture Intermediate People’s Court, Criminal Trial Division No. 1, convicted the five defendants of “counterrevolutionary clique” activity (反革命集团罪) in criminal case (1990)郴一初字第88号. The judgment was issued November 7, 1990.
Jiang was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment, from March 4, 1990 through March 3, 1998, plus three years’ deprivation of political rights.
Primary-source correction
An earlier working transcription read Jiang’s term as six years. A subsequent direct audit of the surviving verdict photograph found the character 八 and the end date 1998-03-03; the eight-year reading is therefore the controlling reading. The same audit also corrected the organization name to 民主中国阵线山地支部.
Evidence status
Current status: not verified. The nominal sentence end date is not evidence of release. No reliable prison assignment, release record, or post-release biography has yet been established.
