Cui Jun (崔军) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yuncheng County, Shandong Province. The 57-year-old former hardware-company employee was sentenced to seven years in prison in December 2024, with a 20,000-yuan fine, after being arrested with eight other local practitioners on July 10, 2024, while they were studying Falun Gong teachings together.
According to Minghui.org, officers led by Tong Qingjiang, head of the Yuncheng County Domestic Security Division, broke up the gathering, ransacked the practitioners’ homes, and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials, computers, and printers. The police later said they had been following Cui and one other practitioner in April and May 2024 and had installed a location tracker on the other practitioner’s electric bike.
Cui was taken to the Heze Detention Center the next day and released after 15 days of administrative detention. Her mother, in her 80s, was summoned to the police station several times for interrogation during that period.
Prosecutor Che Xianfeng of the Yuncheng County Primary Procuratorate later indicted all nine practitioners and moved their cases to the Yuncheng County Primary Court. Cui and five co-defendants were tried on December 9, 2024; the police took them back into custody after the hearing. Judges Zhao Guifeng, Bian Xiaobing, and Wang Lunshan sentenced them on December 18, 2024, with court clerk Chen Deru signing the verdict. Cui received seven years and the 20,000-yuan fine. All eight convicted practitioners appealed; the Heze City Intermediate Court upheld the six practitioners’ sentences on March 7, 2025.
This is not the first time Cui was targeted. Minghui reports that she was arrested in October 2005 and again on September 27, 2006, receiving either a one-year or a two-year labor camp term after the 2006 arrest. She was arrested again on April 21, 2016, detained for a month, and extorted of 40,000 yuan.
