Person profile

Cui Jun (崔军) — female Falun Gong practitioner, 57, former hardware-company employee, Yuncheng County, Shandong. Profile covers: the July 10, 2024 group arrest of nine practitioners studying Falun Gong teachings together; the surveillance lead-up (location tracker on a co-defendant’s electric bike); 15 days of administrative detention and release; indictment by the Yuncheng County Primary Procuratorate; the December 9, 2024 trial and December 18, 2024 sentencing (seven years + ¥20,000 fine); the March 7, 2025 appeal rejection; and her prior detentions in 2005, 2006, and 2016.

Source chronology

  • July 10, 2024 — Minghui.org (reported May 10, 2025). Eight Yuncheng County residents plus Mr. Zhu’s wife were arrested while studying Falun Gong teachings together. Tong Qingjiang (head of Yuncheng County Domestic Security Division) led officers who ransacked homes and confiscated books, materials, computers, and printers. Police said they had followed Ms. Cui and Ms. Xia in April–May 2024 and installed a location tracker on Ms. Xia’s electric bike.
  • July 11, 2024 onward — Minghui.org (May 10, 2025). Cui was taken to Heze Detention Center, then released after 15 days of administrative detention; her mother (80s) was repeatedly summoned for interrogation. At least six of the nine were fined by police; Cui was extorted of 30,000 yuan.
  • Fall 2024 — Minghui.org (May 10, 2025). Prosecutor Che Xianfeng of the Yuncheng County Primary Procuratorate indicted all nine practitioners and moved their cases to the Yuncheng County Primary Court.
  • December 9, 2024 — Minghui.org (May 10, 2025). Cui, Mr. Zhu Lingdian, Ms. Jia Suqin, Ms. Xia Ruiying, Ms. Hou Yuchun, and Ms. Fan Airong were tried. Police returned them to Heze and Yuncheng detention centers after the hearing.
  • December 18, 2024 — Minghui.org (May 10, 2025). Judges Zhao Guifeng, Bian Xiaobing, and Wang Lunshan sentenced the six; court clerk Chen Deru signed the verdict. Cui: seven years + ¥20,000 fine. (Co-defendants: Chen Chengge 6 years; Zhu Lingdian and Jia Suqin 4 years + ¥10,000; Xia Ruiying and Hou Yuchun 3.5 years + ¥10,000; Fan Airong and Chen Fengjuan 1 year + ¥5,000.)
  • December 2024 — Daiphap sentencing register (May 2025). Lists “崔军 / Cui Jun,” age 57, Shandong / Heze, December 2024, seven years, ¥20,000 — the verified Chinese name, matching on every anchor.
  • March 7, 2025 — Minghui.org (May 10, 2025). The Heze City Intermediate Court (judges Yu Yue, Hao Yingang, Wang Yanying; clerk Li Ya) upheld the six practitioners’ sentences; the appeals of the other two co-defendants were rejected at an unknown time. This is the latest dated custody-related event reported.
  • January 25, 2026 — Minghui.org, “Crimes of Huo Min” summary, Case 5. Independently corroborates: eight Yuncheng residents arrested July 10, 2024; indicted by the Yuncheng County Primary Procuratorate; convicted by the Yuncheng County Primary Court in December 2024; Cui Jun, 57, former hardware-company employee, seven years + ¥20,000 fine.
  • Prior history — Minghui.org (May 10, 2025). Cui was arrested October 2005 and September 27, 2006 (one- or two-year labor camp term after 2006); arrested April 21, 2016, detained a month, extorted of ¥40,000.

Source grading

  • Minghui.org, May 10, 2025 (primary case report). Falun Gong-affiliated outlet; the only source with full case detail. Medium-high for the dated sequence of arrest, trial, sentence, and appeal — consistent internally and corroborated on the core facts (see below). Its legal characterizations (“wrongful,” “unlawful”) are advocacy framing and are not adopted. Officer/prosecutor/judge names and the extortion details are the report’s claims only.
  • Minghui.org, January 25, 2026 (perpetrator-accountability summary). Independent corroboration of the core case facts: the eight-person group arrest, the indicting and convicting courts, and Cui’s sentence and fine. Medium-high.
  • Daiphap / Minghui sentencing register, May 2025 (PDF). High for the Chinese-character name, age, province/city, sentence month, term, and fine — structured tabular data, consistent with both narrative reports.

Conflicts and caveats

  • Namesake. A different Cui Jun — male, age 39 in 2004, from Tieli City, Heilongjiang, with an older forced-labor/prison history (2005 Minghui report) — is a separate person. Do not merge.
  • Labor-camp term length (2006). The May 2025 report states Cui was “given either a one-year or a two-year labor camp term” after the September 2006 arrest — the length is explicitly uncertain in the source.
  • Current custody location. No source reports which prison Cui was transferred to after the December 2024 sentencing, or her present custody location. Not inferable.
  • Appeal outcome of two co-defendants. The rejection dates for the appeals of Ms. Chen Chengge and Ms. Chen Fengjuan are not reported — “at an unknown time.”
  • Sentencing court for the two co-defendants. Cui’s six co-defendants were tried December 9, 2024; Ms. Chen Chengge and Ms. Chen Fengjuan were tried December 12 by a different panel — attribution kept separate.

Do-not-merge register

  • Male Cui Jun, Tieli City, Heilongjiang (age 39 in 2004) — separate person, separate case history.
  • Any other 崔 surname entry in the custody rosters.
