Xia Ruiying (夏瑞迎) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yuncheng County, Heze City, Shandong Province. A retired employee of the Yuncheng Production Materials Company, she was sentenced in December 2024 to three and a half years in prison, according to Minghui reporting.
On July 10, 2024, Xia was arrested with seven other practitioners — Cui Jun, Chen Chengge, Zhu Lingdian, Jia Suqin, Hou Yuchun, Fan Airong, and Chen Fengjuan — while studying Falun Gong teachings together, Minghui reported. The same report said police had followed Xia and Cui Jun in April and May 2024 and installed a location tracker on Xia’s electric bike. Officers reportedly searched their homes and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials, computers, and printers.
The Yuncheng County Primary Court convicted the eight in December 2024. Xia, reported as 75 at the time, received three and a half years and a 10,000-yuan fine. Minghui reported in May 2025 that the practitioners lost their appeals.
Minghui also reported an earlier detention on May 8, 2010, when Xia was taken into custody after being reported to police while distributing Falun Gong materials in Dingchang Township, Yuncheng County; her home was reportedly searched.
A prisoners-of-conscience database record updated June 24, 2025 lists Xia Ruiying (夏瑞迎) as serving a prison term and gives June 8, 2028 as a listed release date. That date is the database’s value, not an independently confirmed release fact. The August 31, 2026 Rights Defense Network roster also lists her among reported current-custody cases.
