Ge Zhenhua (葛振华) was a Falun Gong practitioner from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. Minghui.org reported that Ge died in Hulan Prison on October 22, 2022, at age 67. A later current-custody roster entry is therefore treated as outdated for this case.
Arrest and sentencing
According to Minghui.org, Ge was taken into custody on June 20, 2016 after authorities accused Ge of putting up banners and distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Minghui reported that the Shangzhi City Court sentenced Ge on December 2, 2016 to twelve years in prison and a 50,000-yuan fine. On appeal, the sentence was reported reduced to seven years with a 30,000-yuan fine.
Detention and death
Minghui reported that Ge was held at Hulan Prison. In early October 2022, according to its account, Ge’s family was told that Ge had suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. Minghui further reported that the family was asked to bear high medical costs and later signed a consent to stop treatment when they could not pay. Ge was reported to have died in custody on October 22, 2022. These circumstances remain source-attributed; no independent medical or official death record has been located.
Evidence limits
The detailed case record comes from one Minghui reporting lineage. No court judgment or PRC official record has been recovered. One Minghui-derived summary table labels Ge as female while article texts use “Mr.”; gender is therefore left unresolved here.
