Gong Ruiping is a former elementary school teacher from Beijing’s Pinggu District who has been repeatedly detained for practicing Falun Gong. Her Chinese-character name has not been independently verified from a Chinese-language source in the publication package and is therefore omitted here.
Earlier detention history
Falun Gong-affiliated reporting states that Gong began practicing Falun Gong in 1996 and was dismissed from her teaching position after refusing to renounce the practice. Minghui reports a four-year prison term beginning in 2001, followed by later periods of forced labor in 2008 and 2012. Allegations of beatings, sleep deprivation, electric-baton shocks, forced feeding and other mistreatment remain source-attributed.
2021 arrest and 2022 sentence
The Falun Dafa Information Center reports that Gong was arrested on July 20, 2021 after a person she spoke with about Falun Gong reported her to authorities. Her residences were searched and she was held in Shunyi Detention Center. The source reports that Pinggu District Procuratorate indicted her and that she was tried by Pinggu District Court on December 15, 2021, with her family barred from attending.
On February 21, 2022, the court reportedly sentenced her to five and a half years in prison and fined her 11,000 yuan. Minghui reported in August 2024 that she was held in the Third Ward of Beijing Women’s Prison and alleged that she was subjected to sleep and restroom deprivation for refusing to renounce Falun Gong.
Evidence limits
The detailed record comes from Falun Gong-affiliated reporting, and no independent official court judgment was located. Source reports give conflicting ages, so no birth year or exact age is stated. Custody after the August 2024 report is not independently verified.
