Guo Yuexia (国月霞) is a Falun Gong practitioner associated with Qian’an City, Hebei Province, who previously lived in Tangwanghe District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. Falun Gong-affiliated sources report repeated detention since 1999 and a four-year prison sentence imposed in 2025.
Earlier detention history
Minghui reports that Guo traveled to Beijing in 1999 and 2000 to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong and was subsequently subjected to two labor-reeducation terms in Heilongjiang: one year in 2000 and one and a half years in 2002. A 2005 Minghui item independently identifies a Tangwanghe practitioner named Guo Yuexia as having been sent to a labor camp twice.
After moving to Qian’an, Hebei, Guo was among practitioners arrested on September 5, 2011. Minghui reports that she was later held in a “brainwashing center” and alleges beatings and electric-baton shocks; those allegations remain source-attributed.
2020 case
Minghui reports that police attempted to arrest Guo at her home on September 8, 2020. She later turned herself in on September 14. The Zunhua Court reportedly sentenced her on May 25, 2021 to two years in prison and a 5,000-yuan fine. Sources report that the term ended in September 2022.
2025 arrest and sentence
Minghui reports that Guo was arrested on March 16, 2025 in Lulong County after distributing Falun Gong materials. She was held at the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center and tried by the Funing District Court on June 24, 2025. By late August, her lawyer reportedly informed the family that she had received a four-year prison sentence.
A World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong notice, updated March 13, 2026, reports that Guo appealed and that the Tangshan Intermediate Court rejected the appeal. The same notice uses the Chinese name 国月霞. Her current place of detention beyond that source’s March 2026 report has not been independently confirmed.
