Guo Zhimin is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengyang District, Qingdao, Shandong Province. Her Chinese-character name has not been verified in the available record. Minghui reports that she was sentenced in March 2026 to one and a half years in prison and later developed serious health problems while in custody.
Earlier detention
Minghui reports that Guo was arrested at home around November 11, 2021 by officers from Xifu Town Police Station. Her residence was searched and Falun Gong materials were confiscated. The length and disposition of that earlier case are not established in the sources reviewed here.
2025 arrest and 2026 sentence
On October 24, 2025, Minghui reports, Guo was arrested at a bus stop and taken to Chengyang Police Station, then held at Pudong Detention Center. She was tried on March 19, 2026. A July 2026 report states that she received a one-and-a-half-year sentence and appealed to the Qingdao City Intermediate Court, which rejected the appeal.
Reported medical condition
Minghui reported that a physical examination while Guo awaited her appeal found late-stage colon cancer and that a later examination in May 2026 showed spread to the liver and lungs. It also reported repeated family requests for medical parole, transfer to Shandong Province Women’s Prison, and later hospital treatment. These are source-reported medical and custody claims, not independently verified medical findings.
Status and evidence limits
The latest dated report, July 7, 2026, states that Guo remained in custody while receiving chemotherapy. No later status was located. No PRC court record or independent NGO/media corroboration was found.
