Hong Xiuyan (洪秀艳) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dengta City, Liaoyang, Liaoning Province. Minghui reporting documents two separate prison sentences, in 2015 and 2024.
2014–2015 case
Minghui reports that Hong was arrested on July 14, 2014 during a coordinated Dengta police operation. It later reported that she was tried with other practitioners and sentenced on February 15, 2015 to six years and six months in prison by the Dengta City Court. Her appeal was reportedly rejected by the Liaoyang Intermediate Court on July 3, 2015, and she was reported to have served the term in Shenyang City Prison.
2024 case
A September 16, 2024 Minghui report states that Hong was arrested again in late April 2024, tried by the Dengta City Court, and sentenced on September 5, 2024 to four years in prison. The same report states that she was being held at the Liaoyang City Detention Center.
