Huang Yubin (黄渝彬) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yangjiaping, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Rights-monitoring records report that he is serving an eight-year-and-four-month prison sentence.
2023 detention
The Chinese Human Rights Defenders Prisoners of Conscience Database reports that on March 6, 2023, police in Jiulongpo detained several Falun Gong practitioners. It states that Huang Yubin and Tan Ping were reported to police after using yuan banknotes printed with the phrase “Falun Dafa is good” while making purchases at the Yangjiaping New Century supermarket.
The database records that Huang was subsequently criminally detained, formally arrested and indicted, and later received an eight-year-and-four-month sentence. It lists the criminal charge and place of detention as unknown and gives a sentence endpoint of July 6, 2031.
