Huo Zhuangping / 霍壮平

Huo Zhuangping (霍壮平) is a co-worker of Golden Lampstand Church, an unregistered house church in Linfen, Shanxi Province. Religious-freedom monitoring organizations report that she was arrested in August 2021 and sentenced in June 2025 to five years and five months in prison on a fraud charge related to church tithes and offerings.

2021 arrest and prolonged detention

ChinaAid reports that on August 7, 2021, authorities detained twelve pastoral staff and co-workers of Golden Lampstand Church. Six were later released on bail, while Huo remained detained with five others, including pastors Wang Xiaoguang and Yang Rongli.

2025 trial

ChinaAid reports that after repeated postponements, a pretrial conference was held on April 8, 2025 and the trial ran from April 9 through April 14. The monitoring organization reported that all ten defendants pleaded not guilty. It quoted Huo as saying that she did not recognize the fraud charge and had not handled matters related to giving.

Sentence

Bitter Winter and Church in Chains reported that in June 2025 Huo was sentenced to five years and five months in prison and fined 50,000 yuan. The outlets reported that the prosecution treated church tithes and offerings as illegal gains; defense lawyers argued that the donations were voluntary religious contributions. Sources differ on the exact June sentencing date, so this profile states only the month.

Status and evidence limits

ChinaAid’s prisoner-letter directory, which states that its addresses were current as of August 2026, lists Huo’s address of record as the Yaodu District Detention Center in Linfen. That mailing address is not treated here as independent proof of her current physical location. No public judgment, appeal outcome or release date was located.
