Jia Yanfeng (贾艳凤) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dongning City, Heilongjiang Province. Falun Gong-affiliated reporting describes arrests in 2005, 2011 and 2025 and reports that she was sentenced in February 2026 to five years in prison.
Background and earlier detentions
Minghui reports that Jia previously taught at Dongning No. 2 Middle School. It states that after a 2005 detention she was pressured to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong, refused, and lost her teaching position and wages. Minghui also reports that she was arrested again at home on September 22, 2011 by police connected to the Mudanjiang railway and Dongning domestic-security system.
2025 arrest and prosecution
Minghui reports that Jia was among nine Falun Gong practitioners detained in a coordinated Dongning operation on July 18, 2025. Her case, together with several co-defendants, was later submitted to the Hailin City Procuratorate. The outlet reports that police entered her home on July 25 while she was detained and that her daughter challenged officers over the lack of a completed search warrant.
2025–2026 trial and sentence
Minghui and the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong report that trial sessions were held in December 2025 before the Hailin City Court. On February 4, 2026, according to those sources, Jia was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 2,000 yuan. She appealed.
WOIPFG reported that the Mudanjiang City Intermediate Court held second-instance hearings on May 19 and 20, 2026 and that no ruling had been issued as of May 31, 2026.
Status and evidence limits
No later appeal outcome, prison assignment or release date was located. All detailed reporting comes from the Falun Gong reporting ecosystem—primarily Minghui and WOIPFG—and has not been independently corroborated by a public PRC court record or major international-news source.
