Kong Qingping / 孔庆平

Kong Qingping (孔庆平) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dalian, Liaoning Province. Falun Gong-affiliated reporting states that she was detained in October 2022 and sentenced in November 2023 to seven years in prison and a 30,000-yuan fine.

2020–2022 detention history

Minghui reports that police entered Kong’s home on February 25, 2020, confiscated Falun Gong books and materials, and questioned her before releasing her. A month later, after she refused to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong, she was briefly detained and released on bail. When the bail period ended in 2021 and police ordered her to report again, she left home.

On October 22, 2022, according to Minghui and the Falun Dafa Information Center, police located Kong at a temporary residence and took her to the Dalian City Detention Center, also known as the Yaojia Detention Center.

Trial, sentence and appeal

Kong appeared before the Ganjingzi District Court three times in 2023. Minghui gives April 10 for the first hearing, while WOIPFG gives April 11; the discrepancy remains unresolved. Later hearings were reported on September 22 and November 10.

On November 10, 2023, the court sentenced Kong to seven years in prison and fined her 30,000 yuan. The Dalian City Intermediate Court rejected her appeal on March 25, 2024. The formal criminal charge is not stated in the reviewed sources and is not inferred.

Family advocacy

The Falun Dafa Information Center reports that Kong’s daughter, Liu Zhitong, who lives in San Francisco, publicly advocated for her release. The organization also reports that U.S. Representative Barbara Lee wrote to Secretary of State Antony Blinken in September 2023 asking that Kong’s case be raised with Chinese counterparts.

Status and evidence limits

Rights Defense Network Issue 131 lists Kong Qingping among reported current prisoners as of August 31, 2026. Sources place her at the Dalian City/Yaojia Detention Center through April 2024, but no later prison-transfer record was located. Current facility after that date is therefore unknown.
