2018 detention
CHRD’s later UN submission records Li’s identity, date of birth, residence, Jasic employment, July 27, 2018 detention, reported charges, and detention at Shenzhen Municipal No. 2 Detention Center.
Human Rights in China listed Li among Jasic workers and supporters detained in 2018 and reported that a lawyer who met him on September 18 was pressured to withdraw.
2019 international attention
CHRD filed a complaint with UN Special Procedures in March 2019. In July 2019, it reported that Li and several other Jasic workers were still in custody.
Personal account
Labor Notes published a translated account by a fellow worker describing Li’s role supporting workers and reporting that his wife, Aying, was also detained on July 27, 2018. Family details in that article remain single-source reporting.
Current-status limitation
Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists Li as detained without trial in Guangdong. The roster may contain stale entries for the Jasic cohort, so the listing is preserved as a dated classification rather than independent confirmation of current custody. No trial, verdict, sentence, release, or official disposition was located.
