Li Chang’an (李长安) was a Falun Gong practitioner from Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province who worked as a truck driver. Falun Gong-affiliated reporting states that he was repeatedly detained and was sentenced in October 2015 to twelve years in prison.
Earlier reported detention history
Minghui reports that Li was arrested on October 21, 2003 and later imprisoned at Tailai Prison. The outlet also reports another arrest on July 7, 2010 with fellow practitioner Si Bingling; Li escaped at that time while Si later received a ten-year sentence.
2015 sentence
Minghui reports that Li was taken back into custody in May 2015 and that on October 28, 2015 he was sentenced to twelve years in prison. A January 2016 report placed him in Hulan Prison.
Reported prison treatment and death
A May 2025 Minghui report alleges repeated beatings, solitary confinement and force-feeding during Li’s imprisonment and states that his health deteriorated in late 2022. The outlet reported that he fell into a coma and died in a hospital on September 24, 2023 while still serving the sentence. Those prison-treatment and death claims have not been independently verified.
Contradictory status record
Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, still lists 李长安 in its twelve-year-sentence group. That later roster does not reconcile the earlier reported death. This profile therefore preserves both records with attribution and does not independently conclude whether the roster was stale or the death report was inaccurate.
