Li Zhuozhong (李卓忠) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Xingning City, Meizhou, Guangdong Province, reported to be serving a ten-year prison sentence imposed in December 2024.
The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) reports that Li, then in his fifties, was detained in April 2024 together with his wife, Liao Yanqiong (廖燕琼, also rendered 廖苑群), and fellow practitioners Xie Yujun and Liao Juanna. The organization reports home searches and seizure of property and cash; those details remain source-attributed.
WOIPFG reports that the case moved through the Xingning and Meixian District procuratorates and that the four defendants were tried at the Meixian District Court in October and November 2024. It says the court sentenced Li and his wife on December 20, 2024 to ten years each, with a combined fine of 150,000 yuan, while the two co-defendants received five-year terms. The organization reports that appeals were rejected by the Meizhou Intermediate Court.
WOIPFG further reports that Li and Xie Yujun were transferred to Sihui Prison in Guangdong in May 2025, while the two women were transferred to Guangdong Women’s Prison. The Rights Defense Network’s August 31, 2026 Issue 131 lists Li Zhuozhong in its ten-year-sentence group, consistent with the reported verdict.
