Status and evidence limits

Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, listed Lian as detained without trial, but that roster predates his September 5 release and is stale as a current-status source. USCIRF’s “Not Released” field is likewise stale. Torture, beating, and witness-coercion allegations come from advocacy and religious-freedom reporting and remain attributed. Release does not establish acquittal, dismissal, or closure of the prosecution.
