Liang Yun (梁云) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qujing City, Yunnan Province, reported to have been sentenced in September 2025 to four years in prison and a 10,000-yuan fine.
The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), a Falun Gong-aligned advocacy organization, reports that Liang, then 69, was detained on December 10, 2024 after police received a report that she had given someone a USB drive containing Falun Gong materials. The organization states that her home was searched and that her case was transferred to the Qilin District Procuratorate.
WOIPFG reports that in mid-September 2025 the Qilin District Court sentenced Liang to four years in prison and fined her 10,000 yuan. It says she appealed to the Qujing City Intermediate Court. No appeal outcome was located.
The same notice describes three earlier sentences totaling 13 years and alleges mistreatment during prior imprisonment, as well as later pension-related financial penalties. Those historical and mistreatment claims are WOIPFG’s account and have not been independently verified.
Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists 梁云 / Liang Yun in its four-year-sentence group, consistent with the reported 2025 verdict.
Evidence limits: no official court judgment, criminal charge, current prison facility, or appeal decision was located. No release date is inferred.
