Liao Wenxian (廖文仙) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province who was reported sentenced to seven years in prison after a 2022 arrest.
Minghui, a Falun Gong-affiliated outlet, reports that on April 21, 2022 a surveillance camera recorded Liao distributing Falun Gong materials in Xichou County. She was arrested that day. Fang Shimei, who was with her, was arrested later the same day. The outlet reports that police searched both women’s homes and that they were held at the Xichou County Detention Center.
Minghui reported in November 2023 that the women’s families had confirmed sentences of seven years for Liao and ten years for Fang. The outlet itself noted that details of the indictment, trial, and sentencing proceedings were unclear.
Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists 廖文仙 / Liao Wenxian in its seven-year-sentence group, indicating that she remained listed in custody as of that date.
