Miao Yawen (苗雅文) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun, Jilin Province. Monitoring records report that she was detained on August 6, 2024 and later sentenced to four years in prison.
2024 detention and sentence
The CHRD Prisoners of Conscience database reports that Miao and fellow practitioner Pan Shuxian were detained while shopping at a supermarket after speaking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were searched, and both women were placed under criminal detention at the Changchun Supervision Center, also known as the Weizigou Detention Center.
The database records that Miao was later formally arrested, indicted and sentenced to four years in prison. The specific criminal charge, sentencing court and current place of confinement are not documented in the reviewed sources.
