Liu Chenjin (刘臣金) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qingdao, Shandong Province, reported in 2021–2022 as a man in his 70s living in Laoshan District with his wife, Shi Yueying (施月英).
Minghui reports that on June 25, 2021, Liu and his wife were detained with six others in Laoshan District by officers from the Zhonghan and Shazikou police stations. Over the following months, Liu was transferred among detention facilities including Laoshan, Chengyang, and Qingdao No. 1 Detention Center.
By October 2021, Minghui reported that Liu’s case had been transferred to the procuratorate and that he had been indicted. The outlet also reported high blood pressure during detention; that health claim remains source-attributed.
On June 13, 2022, Minghui reported that Liu had been sentenced to seven years in prison and his wife to four and a half years. It stated that both had appealed.
Status: appeal outcome and current custody are unverified. No later case-specific report establishing either was located.
