Minghui reports that Liu was arrested in Xi’an and held at the Yanta District Detention Center before transfer to the Foping County Detention Center.
2021–2023 — sentence correction
A May 2021 account relayed through Minghui reported that a detention-center guard told Liu’s family he had received four years. A later August 2023 report states that the family learned during a visit at Weinan Prison that the actual sentence was eight years. The eight-year figure is treated as the later correction, not as a separate sentence.
