Liu Xing (刘星)

Liu Xing (刘星) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Daxing District, Beijing.

Minghui reports that Liu was among practitioners detained in a July 2022 Beijing police operation ahead of the 20th Party Congress. She and three other Daxing practitioners — Liu Yuhong, Jin Shuying, and Dong Xiurong — were arrested between July 25 and 27, 2022 and held at the Daxing District Detention Center.

An April 2023 Minghui report initially gave Liu’s sentence as one year and nine months. In December 2023, however, Minghui reported that family members had confirmed the court had provided false “light sentence” information and that Liu’s actual term was four years and six months with a 5,000-yuan fine. The later family-confirmed figure supersedes the earlier notice.

The USCIRF Religious Prisoners of Conscience database records Liu as female, a Falun Gong practitioner, detained in Daxing in July 2022 and not released. Its sentence field reflects the earlier one-year-nine-month report and is therefore treated here as stale relative to the later family-confirmed term.

Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists 刘星 in its four-year-six-month group.

Status: reported in custody as of August 31, 2026. Liu’s age, occupation, exact sentencing date, post-detention-center prison placement, and current conditions were not located.
