Liu Yanmei (刘燕美) — Dongying is a retiree of the Shengli Oil Field in Dongying City, Shandong Province, and a Falun Gong practitioner.
Minghui reports that Liu was arrested on April 23, 2021 during a police operation involving more than twenty practitioners in Dongying. The outlet links the operation to a Binhai Police Department case opened in 2019 and reports that practitioners were monitored before the arrests.
On December 20, 2022, according to Minghui, the Dongying District Court sentenced Liu to seven years in prison and fined her 50,000 yuan under Article 300 of the Criminal Law. She appealed eight days later to the Dongying City Intermediate Court. Minghui reports that the original judgment was upheld without a hearing.
On July 17, 2023, Minghui reported that Liu had been sent to Shandong Province Women’s Prison.
Rights Defense Network Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists 刘燕美 in its seven-year-sentence group. The Chinese form 刘燕美 is resolved by the bilingual roster position and the Dongying case anchors.
