Sun Shuyun (孙淑云) is a Falun Gong practitioner from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, reported to be serving a six-year prison term in the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison. She was arrested in May 2023 and sentenced that November. Reports from Minghui describe repeated mistreatment in custody. Those allegations are source-attributed and have not been independently verified.
Background and arrest
According to Minghui, Sun was arrested on May 20, 2023 after earlier filing a complaint with the Daowai District Procuratorate seeking the return of belongings confiscated by police. She was held at the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center. Prosecutor Shao Mengnan indicted her in August 2023; the Daowai District Court tried her on September 4 and sentenced her to six years on November 25, 2023.
Prison reports
Minghui reports that Sun was taken to Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison on February 9, 2024. Later reports allege forced sitting, beatings, denial of water, drugging and other abuse in the prison’s 8th Division. A December 2025 overview specifically reports that Sun was beaten by inmate Wang Shu in early 2025. These allegations remain attributed to Minghui.
Status and unresolved parole report
A February 2025 Minghui bulletin reported that Sun Shuyun and Ma Shuhua were released on medical parole after developing severe health problems. Later Minghui reports from December 2025 and September 2026 describe Sun as still imprisoned and recount abuse through March 2026. The apparent conflict is unresolved; this profile therefore does not state a single definitive current location. The Prisoners of Conscience Data database lists 孙淑云 with a reported release date of May 19, 2029, but that is a database value rather than an official release order.
