Sun Wanshuai (孙万帅) — Falun Gong practitioner, Zhangjiakou

Sun Wanshuai (孙万帅) is a Falun Gong practitioner and art teacher in his 50s from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, reported by Minghui.org to be serving an eight-year prison term after being accused of posting information about Falun Gong on WeChat.

Arrest and prosecution

Minghui reports that on December 3, 2020, internet police from Luoyang City, Henan Province, arrested Sun at his home in Zhangjiakou, Hebei, confiscated his computer and mobile phone, and took him to Luoyang. The source reports that police alleged he had posted Falun Gong-related information on WeChat.

After about a year of detention, the Jianxi District Court in Luoyang held a hearing on December 11, 2021. Minghui reports that the judge did not permit the family to retain lawyers to enter a not-guilty plea, kept Sun in handcuffs and shackles, and gave him five minutes to speak in his defense.

Sentence

In July 2022, Minghui reports, the court sentenced Sun to eight years in prison and fined him 30,000 yuan. The same court sentenced Dai Zhiying of Shanghai to nine and a half years and Zhang Xia of Wuhan to nine years in related social-media cases.

Prison and status

A July 2025 Minghui report lists Sun Wanshuai among Falun Gong practitioners known to be imprisoned in Xinmi Prison in Henan, also known as Zhengzhou Prison. No exact prison-admission date, appeal outcome, or verified release date was located. The Prisoners of Conscience Data database confirms the Chinese characters 孙万帅.
