According to Rights Defense Network reporting, Wan was detained at her residence in Fuzhou, Fujian Province on August 5, 2025 by police from the Cangshan District Public Security Bureau and was held at the Fuzhou No. 2 Detention Center.
The same source reports that the Minqing County Court sentenced her in late July 2026 to one year and three months in prison. The report gives November 4, 2026 as the end of the term.
