Wang Xiaoguang (王晓光) is a pastor of the Golden Lampstand Church in Linfen, Shanxi Province, and the husband of church leader Yang Rongli. He was among twelve church co-workers arrested on August 7, 2021 on reported “fraud” charges; six were later released on bail while Wang remained detained.
Chinese Human Rights Defenders reported that in June 2025 Wang was sentenced to nine years and seven months in prison. Bitter Winter reported that Wang and Yang Rongli’s case was handled separately from ten other church members sentenced on June 20, 2025.
Issue 131, dated August 31, 2026, lists Wang as the sole person in its “sentenced to 9 years and 7 months” group, which matches the sentence reported in 2025. The report classifies its roster as political prisoners and prisoners of conscience currently in custody.
