- Latest arrest on June 28, 2023, at his workplace, by the High-tech Development Zone Domestic Security Office, on the claim that surveillance footage recorded him putting up Falun Gong posters near his home.
- Home raid; Falun Gong books, bookmarks, and informational DVDs confiscated; arrest approved by the High-tech Development Zone Procuratorate on July 25.
- Hearing on September 25 before the High-tech Development Zone Court, with no family present; sentence of 3.5 years plus a 20,000-yuan fine; appeal upheld by the Daqing City Intermediate Court on November 8, 2023.

Excerpt records the same Wang Yanming case: detained in Daqing in June 2023, sentenced on September 25, 2023, to three years and six months with a 20,000-yuan fine. A separate summary publication; the underlying case facts are the same.

August 2026 — Rights Defense Network monthly roster, Issue 131 (2026-08-31)
Wang Yanming listed at roster index 1257, in the 3-years-6-months band, among currently held political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. This is a dated source claim; the roster is a single-lineage listing, not independently verified custody evidence.
Provenance and grading
- Minghui.org: movement publication (Falun Gong’s own media); detailed, internally consistent case reporting with named dates, institutions, and people; no independent corroboration beyond the excerpt below.
- U.S. human rights report excerpt via Falun Dafa Australia Information Centre: confirms sentence length and dates from a separate publication.
- Rights Defense Network monthly roster: primary monitor of the prisoner population; single lineage for the current-custody claim.
- 2026-08-31 snapshot: the sole dated basis for “currently in custody.”
Conflicts and limitations
- Chinese characters 王彦明 come from the Issue 131 roster’s ZH/EN positional mapping; no Chinese-language primary report located that prints the characters alongside this case.
- No PRC court document located for the September 2023 judgment; no detention-facility information beyond the February 2024 “Daqing City Second Detention Center” report.
- Arrest/sentencing narrative rests on Minghui’s reporting; present it as reported, not as a court finding.
