Source chronology

2025 — Dui Hua Foundation, "Prisoner Updates 2025 #2"

https://duihua.org/prisoner-updates-2025-2/

Dui Hua obtained a copy of the judgment posted online by an overseas group and reported:

  • Six people sentenced to between three and 12 years by the Luzhou Intermediate People’s Court in April 2024 for subversion; sentences upheld by the Sichuan High People’s Court in December 2024.
  • Party leader Tang Gaofeng (唐高峰) conceived the China Democracy Victory Party (中国民主胜利党) while abroad in 2008, drafted its platform and constitution, and recruited the other five online beginning in 2009 (Dai Lu joining in 2014).
  • First meeting held in Chengdu in 2011; online recruitment and ideological dissemination 2011–2015; one cited offline act (Wang Yifei, Qianjiang, Hubei, 2013 — posted reactionary slogans and photographed them for the party’s overseas website).
  • Residential surveillance at a designated location in May 2022; arrests in September 2022; first-instance trial concluded April 24, 2024.
  • Wang Yifei: 7.5 years’ imprisonment and three years’ deprivation of political rights.

2025 — CECC citation (annual report)

http://cecc.gov/sites/evo-subsites/www.cecc.gov/files/evo-media-document/sec4ch4.pdf

The Congressional-Executive Commission on China cites the Rights Defense Network’s February 1, 2025 briefing on the six-person case: the briefing names Tang Gaofeng (12 years), Wang Wei (8 years), Wang Yifei (7 years 6 months), Zhou Dan (6 years), Liu Zhengang (5.5 years), and Dai Lu (3 years).

2026 — Rights Defense Network monthly roster, Issue 131 (2026-08-31)

Wang Yifei listed at roster index 1259, in the 7-years-6-months band, among currently held political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. This is a dated source claim; the roster is a single-lineage listing, not independently verified custody evidence.

Provenance and grading

  • Dui Hua Foundation (Washington, D.C.-based NGO): judgment-based reporting; opened and read in full.
  • CECC annual report: cites the Rights Defense Network.
  • Rights Defense Network monthly roster: primary monitor of the prisoner population; single lineage for the current-custody claim.

Conflicts and limitations

  • No conflict on identity, sentence length, or case narrative across the sources.
  • No source names a detention or prison facility; none is published here.
  • Current-custody status rests on the August 31, 2026 roster snapshot; it is dated and attributed, not a timeless claim.
