Wang Zholin (王周琳) — also romanized Wang Zhoulin in published reports — is a Falun Gong practitioner from Longkou City, Shandong Province, serving a four-year prison sentence for his faith.
On May 9, 2023, about five o’clock in the morning, police arrested 23 Longkou residents — 21 Falun Gong practitioners and two family members — in a coordinated sweep. Wang was among those detained and formally arrested on June 14, 2023. On July 26, 2023, his case was forwarded to the Longkou City Procuratorate, and on August 21, 2023, it was sent to the Longkou City Court.
On October 26, 2023, Wang was tried together with fellow practitioners Ge Lijuan and Wu Jingkun by the Longkou City Court; Judge Chi Ya’nan presided and prosecutor Liu Lan presented the case. On December 14, 2023, the court convicted Wang and sentenced him to four years in prison. He was admitted to the Shandong Province First Prison (Men’s Prison) in Jinan to serve the term.
His co-defendants were sentenced the same day: Ge Lijuan received four and a half years (admitted to the Shandong Province Second Prison, the women’s prison), and Wu Jingkun was sentenced to two years in prison with a three-year probation period and a 6,000-yuan fine.
As of the March 12, 2024 reporting, Wang was being held at the Shandong Province First Prison in Jinan. No later updates have been published; his present status has not been independently verified.
