Zhou Yuqin (周育琴) — Media Profile & Archive
This archive preserves the source record behind the Zhou Yuqin (周育琴) profile: Minghui reporting spanning 2016 to 2021 on the September 2016 arrest sweep, the January 2018 trial and sentencing, the November 2018 prison admissions, and her incarceration in the Guangdong Women’s Prison, with provenance and limitations noted. Sources are graded; allegations remain attributed rather than stated as fact.
Minghui.org — “Three Guangdong Residents Given Heavy Prison Sentences for Their Faith” (April 10, 2018)
(Opened and read in full: https://projectshield.en.minghui.org/html/articles/2018/4/10/169326p.html). The dedicated case report covers the September 24, 2016 arrests; the January 23, 2018 joint trial (attendance restrictions, lawyer obstruction, prosecutor Wang Xiaode, Judge Zhong Huisong presiding); the March 30/April 2, 2018 verdicts (Zhou: 10 years and a 50,000-yuan fine; Shi: 9 years and 30,000; Liu: 4 years and 10,000); and the appeals filed. (The en.minghui.org mirror of the same article is a DUPLICATE — same content, mirror host.) Source grade: B — Falun Gong community publication; dedicated case report; partisan; verified (opened and read).
Minghui.org — “Guangdong Province: 23 Arrested in One Day” (October 19, 2016)
(Opened and read in full: http://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2016/10/19/159605.html). The arrest-sweep report names Zhou Yuqin of Huizhou among those arrested, and identifies her as a clothing-company owner who had previously served three years of forced labor for her faith. Source grade: B — Falun Gong community publication; partisan; verified (opened and read).
Minghui.org — “Additional Persecution News from China – December 7, 2019” (December 30, 2018)
(Opened and read in full: http://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2018/12/30/173911.html). The persecution-news digest reports the three practitioners’ sentences upheld and their prison admissions: Ms. Zhou and Ms. Shi to the Guangzhou women’s prison on November 22, 2018, and Mr. Liu to Beijiang Prison on November 20, 2018. Minor note: the digest says “The Huidong County Court upheld the sentences” — the appeal decision was the Huizhou Intermediate Court’s per the April 2018 report; the digest’s phrasing is loose and is disclosed here. Source grade: B — Falun Gong community publication; partisan; verified (opened and read).
Minghui.org — “Falun Gong Practitioners in Guangdong Women’s Prison Brutally Tortured” (January 25, 2021)
(Opened and read in full: http://en.minghui.org/html/articles/2021/1/25/190074.html). The prison-conditions report lists Ms. Zhou Yuqin of Huizhou among eighteen practitioners then incarcerated in Guangdong Women’s Prison, recapping: arrested September 24, 2016 at age 50; sentenced to 10 years and fined 50,000 yuan by the Huidong County Court on March 30, 2018; appeal rejected September 11, 2018; taken to the prison November 22, 2018. 维权网 — August 2026 monthly report, Issue 131 (August 31, 2026)
维权网《中国大陆在押政治犯、良心犯月度报告(2026年8月31日)第131期(共1638人), mirrored in English and Chinese. Lists 周育琴 / “Zhou Yuqin” in the “Sentenced to 10 years, 44 people” band. The report supplies no biographical detail beyond the sentence and custody status; it is the source for her classification as in custody as of August 2026. Source grade: monitoring organization; single-source roster fact.
Source conflicts and limitations
All case facts (2016 arrest, 2018 trial, verdicts, appeal, prison admission) rest on a single-community source (Minghui) plus one systematic roster (Issue 131); no independent international-media or official corroboration was found. The December 2018 Minghui digest’s loose “Huidong County Court upheld the sentences” phrasing is disclosed — the appeal was decided by the Huizhou Intermediate Court. “Standard pretext” and 610 Office characterizations are the community publication’s, not independently verified findings. The 44-person 10-year band is a same-sentence-length aggregation, not a joint case; band neighbors are not co-defendants. A Minghui April 29, 2018 sentencing roundup and Minghui’s Chinese-edition trial article (whose title as rendered on the English page confirms the 周育琴 characters) were not opened this run and are flagged for downstream click-verification; the public record does not depend on them. No update on her condition after the January 2021 prison listing has been found. Search-surfaced zhuichaguoji.org PDFs (one Harbin case opened: no 周育琴 content) are false search matches, not evidence. She must not be merged with the Taiwanese anchor 周玉琴, the academic 周育仁, or 刘玉琴 / Liu Yuqin.
